Update 3/15/20:
Michelle has survived 10 doses of radiation! "Only" 20 more to go. She is in a lot of pain daily but understands that this is part of the process and that she will come out stronger in the end. Today she found out that she has cellulitis in her upper arm and surrounding areas. Thank you all for your prayers!
In July 2020 Michelle was sent home from work after contracting COVID-19. Unfortunately, during her recovery, she also contracted mono. Due to missing weeks of work, she was released from her position as a nurse and lost her insurance.
On October 27th, 2000, Michelle was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a nurse, she is very accustomed to caring for others, but not having to rely on others to care for her. She is a single lady with no children, so she is having to rely on her family and friends for support physically, emotionally, and financially.
With your help, we were able to provide hand sanitizers to the men and women working in healthcare during the Covid outbreak..Thank you for helping us help others.
Ms. Janice is an amazing mother of three that battled cancer like a champ!!!
Her smile is contagious. Her positive attitude and winning mentality has made the journey she was on so much better than it could have been.
This bump in the road has brought her to peace with the Lord and we could not be happier to help anyone more than her and her sweet family.
Thank you all for shopping with us so that we can help amazing families just like hers.
Shane was very special to us here at The Peaceful Porch as he was one of my former students. I had the pleasure of teaching him from 7th to 11th grade. He was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in 2017. Because of the wonderful support of our customers and our local churches God allowed us to raise enough money to take Shane and his family on a much-needed family weekend getaway before he passed away. Thank you to everyone who helped us help Shane and his precious family.
Every community has that one amazing family that will go to the ends of the earth to help others. In Wedowee, AL that has always been the Cooper Family. Jerry Cooper was a loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. Jerry was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2013 and was also diagnosed with MDS which is a condition where his bone marrow was not producing healthy red blood cells. It is a form of cancer, and the only possible cure is a bone marrow transplant, which he was not eligible for because of his health due to MS. Thank you for helping this family during Jerry's battle which unfortunately he lost. The bible clearly states in Luke 6:38, “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
